Regional HR Manager- South

Johnsons Hotel Linen is the leading Laundry and Linen Hire Company supplying National Hotel Chains and Independent Hotels across the UK from 9 sites in the UK.  We are part of the Johnsons Service Group PLC.

An opportunity has arisen for an ambitious, experienced HR professional to join a busy HR department, reporting to and supporting the Head of HR. The role oversees 5 of our JHL sites, with weekly travel and occasional overnight stays required, location of sites include; Birmingham, Wales and Essex. Managing your own diary there is a degree of flexibility of working from home one to two days a week depending on needs of the business.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience of human resource management, previous experience of working in a manufacturing or similar industry and multi-site responsibilities is desirable.

Role

The post will be responsible for the

  • To develop strong relationships with site leaders and line managers across specified Johnsons Hotel Linen sites and to provide HR support and advice.
  • To advise site leaders and line managers in employee-related initiatives and issues.
  • To support site leaders and line managers on site and via video conferencing in disciplinary and grievance issues up to and including potential dismissal.
  • Foster relationships with HMPPS and DWP to support second chance employment and vulnerable groups.
  • To participate in resolving employee relations issues including contract change and absence/sickness management.
  • Working with line managers, general managers, and outsourced occupational health provider to manage absence cases, both short and long term.
  • In conjunction with on-site administrators, to collate absence information and prepare monthly HR MI reports as required.
  • To provide monthly reports on all ongoing ER issues.
  • In conjunction with the Head of HR. to be abreast of legislative changes and continually update all HR policies and procedures as required, to assist in any required changes and communication of those changes.
  • Working with the Head of HR on employee engagement initiatives and participation in Sustainability teams as required.

Essentials

  • Proven experience in Human Resource management.
  • CIPD level 5 qualification or equivalent
  • Full UK driving license
  • Flexible attitude to working hours
