We’re offering a unique opportunity to join our dynamic team as Transport Manager at Johnsons Hotel Linen Bourne. This key role is instrumental in the smooth running of a busy and challenging department, with the largest plant and fleet within the company. We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate considerable experience of managing a team and providing high level support to the wider business. You will lead by example, working collaboratively with other departments to deliver a high quality of service to our customers.

The Role:

  1. To ensure we meet the service delivery expectations of our customers;
  2. To take overall responsibility for the organisation of the Transport and Loading Departments and provide strategic advice and planning support;
  3. To be responsible for managing all drivers including the scheduling of rotas and rest days
  4. To manage recruitment of team members in conjunction with the HR Department;
  5. To ensure the Company complies fully to all logistics legislation and requirements;
  6. To review daily route scheduling and ensure efficiency in designated routes;
  7. Ensure safe systems of working for all staff under your responsibility including provision of all manual handling and other training activities;
  8. Work within monthly financial budget constraints;
  9. Monitor and manage individual staff performance and provide coaching and training as well as deal effectively with any performance or disciplinary matters in conjunction with HR;
  10. Ensure risk assessments are carried out and maintained at all customer delivery points in compliance with health & safety legislation.

Essential Criteria

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a logistics environment and having been responsible for a large LGV fleet of at least 30 vehicles.

We are looking for an organised and committed individual to drive improved performance in the team in a dynamic business. The individual must be prepared to be flexible with hours worked.

Transport Manager CPC is preferred
